Club Manager & Head ProfessionalLarry Batchelor - Club Manager/Head Professional Larry began playing his golf at Deangate Ridge at the age of 10. At the age of 13 he joined Rochester and Cobham and began playing for Kent Juniors when he was 14. By the time he was 16 he was representing the county at both colts and senior level. The highlight of Larry's amateur career came when he won the Kent Amateur at Mid Kent Golf Club at the age of 19. Larry then made the plunge into the professional ranks and joined Cranbrook Golf Club as an assistant to Gary Potter. He stayed there for 18 months before returning to Rochester and Cobham as an assistant to Matt Henderson. During the next 5 years he became a fully qualified PGA Professional, attending the residential teaching schools at the Belfry. On completing his qualification Larry then decided to try his hand at playing full time tournament golf. Larry enjoyed considerable success during this period and has won over 20 tournaments on the PGA South Region Circuit. Other highlights included a season on the European Tour in 1996 and Qualification for the Open at Troon in 1997. As well as being a fine player Larry is also widely acknowledged as an accomplished teacher of the game. Larrys teaching philosophy is based upon treating each golfer as an individual. "Golf can be as difficult or as easy as you want to make it. I believe in keeping the teaching of the game simple and easy. Everyone is different both physically and in terms of his or her ability. I like to work with the individual rather than impose the same method on every pupil."
